This Ice Scraper uses a Shock Absorbing Handle. Most shock absorbing handles only use a compression spring that will be the proper tension for a strong person who cannot bottom it out easily, but when a petite lady or elderly person uses it, the spring will be very stiff with little or no travel; and vice versa, if the spring is tensioned for the elderly or weak, then the stronger person may easily bottom it.
Our newly developed handle is unique in that it not only uses a compression spring, but also a compression rubber. The spring is light to start, but as it compresses, the rubber starts to progressively resist the downward pressure, and even in extreme applications it will not easily reach the bottom.
Our new "Shock Absorber" handle allows 3.8cm/1.5 inches of travel which takes the shock out of striking applications.
